L'Express H2O Desjardins in Amos
L'Express H2O Desjardins is an annual gathering that is part of the Cours ta région challenge, which groups six regional events. It is the only race in Abitibi-Témiscamingue to offer the marathon distance alongside other formats.
Offered distances include:
- 1 km for children and adults.
- 5 km walk or run.
- 10 km walk or run.
- 20 km team of 4, format 4 x 5 km simultaneous.
- 21.1 km half marathon.
- 30 km new distance for marathon preparation.
- 42.2 km marathon and marathon relay.
Registration includes professional timing except for the 1 km and walks, live results on Sportchrono, a marked and secured course, a participation medal, refreshments on and after the course, first aid and paramedical supervision, and a podium. Professional photos are available for free via PixiSport. There is a chance to win a 150 CAD gift card at Sports Experts for registrations before January 31.
The event takes place behind the Centre de services scolaire Harricana and the Cégep d'Amos at 120, 6e Avenue Ouest, Amos. Pricing varies by age: adult regular price, ages 12 to 17 reduced price, under 12 free. Several eco responsible actions are implemented, including no commercial plastic water bottles, compostable or recyclable cups, and reuse of signage.
