Event Overview
The Lephalale Mall 3-in-1 Community Run is an inaugural road running event held in Lephalale, Limpopo. Participants start and finish at the Lephalale Mall, located at the corner of Nelson Mandela and Chris Hani Avenue. The course takes runners through the Onverwacht area on routes that are predominantly flat and fast.
The event offers three distinct distances:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon (Minimum age 16)
- 10 km Road Race (Minimum age 16)
- 5 km Community Run (No minimum age requirement)
Participation and Logistics
All participants receive professional chip timing provided by BoutTime, and every finisher is awarded a medal. Water points are positioned approximately every 2.5 km to 3 km along the course, and refreshments are available at the finish line. The event includes a music and vibe station and a free fitness class.
For the 10 km and 21.1 km events, a valid Athletics South Africa (ASA) licence is required. Runners without a permanent licence must purchase a temporary one. No licence is required for the 5 km distance. Age-category tags must be clearly visible on the front and back for those competing for prize money.
Safety and Regulations
The race follows ASA and LIMA rules. Participants must follow the instructions of marshals and traffic officials. Pets are not allowed on the route, and the use of headphones or sound equipment is prohibited during the race.
