Event Overview

The Lead King Loop event takes place on September 13, 2026, in Marble, Colorado. It features three race distances: a 25K (Lead King Loop), an 8-mile (Quarry Climb), and a kids 2.5K. All proceeds benefit the Marble Charter School.

Course Details

The 25K course starts at Thompson Park in Marble. It involves a climb of 2,900 vertical feet into Lead King Basin, traverses at 10,000 feet, and passes the historic Crystal Mill before finishing back in Marble.

The 8-mile Quarry Climb is an out-and-back route starting and finishing at the Marble Children's Park, following Quarry Road.

The kids 2.5K starts at Thompson Park, loops around Marble, and finishes back at the park.

Participant Information

Registration includes a custom event shirt, a post-race homemade BBQ lunch, a cold beer, and a custom finisher medal. Kids race participants also receive a goody bag and an entry in a raffle.

Packet pickup and late registration are available the day before the event in Carbondale. There is typically very limited mobile phone service at Thompson Park. The course has a strict cutoff time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
