LARC in the Park 5K Run/Walk
The event takes place on October 18, 2026, at Rockland Lake State Park in Valley Cottage, NY. Proceeds benefit the Library Association of Rockland County Scholarship Fund and professional development for its members. LARC is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports Rockland’s public libraries.

Logistics note that participants should use the park north entrance and proceed to parking lot 1. Rockland Lake State Park charges an entrance fee of $10 per vehicle. Registration is required online for the 5K and a registration fee applies to the 5K; the kids dash is free.
Event materials and awards include library themed socks for the first 150 registered 5K participants. An awards ceremony follows the 5K with overall male and female winners plus top three male and female age group winners in the listed categories: under 20, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.
