Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon
The Lanzarote International Marathon takes place in December on the Canary Island of Lanzarote. The event features a course that runs along the eastern coastline of the island under typically sunny skies with an average air temperature of 21ºC. The race is open to participants of all abilities, including both amateur and professional runners.
Participants can choose from various distances:
- 42 km (Full Marathon)
- 21 km (Half Marathon)
- 10 km
- 5 km (Santa Claus Race)
- Kids distances (Buddy's Marathon)
The full marathon starts in Costa Teguise, while the half marathon begins in Puerto del Carmen and the 10 km race starts in Arrecife. Shuttle buses are provided to transport runners from Costa Teguise to the start lines in Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife.
The event includes an Expo Area for race number collection and shopping, which is available in the days leading up to the main races. On race day, services such as a cloakroom and medal engraving are provided. Additional activities include a Zumba warm-up and live music at the finish line area. The organizers promote sustainable development by encouraging the use of the local intercity bus system to reduce the event's carbon footprint.
