Lanzarote International Marathon
The Lanzarote International Marathon takes place in December on the Canary Island of Lanzarote. The event is held under sunny skies with an average air temperature of 21ºC. The course runs along the eastern coastline of the island, providing views of the sea as participants travel between different coastal points.
The event offers several race options to accommodate different fitness levels:
- 42 km (Full Marathon): Starting in Costa Teguise.
- 21 km (Half Marathon): Starting in Puerto del Carmen.
- 10 km: Starting in Arrecife.
- 5 km Santa Claus Race: Held two days before the main events.
- Wheelers 21 km: A specific category for wheelchair participants.
- Buddy's Marathon: Children's races organized by age categories.
Participants can make use of a shuttle bus service that connects Costa Teguise to the starting points in Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife. On-site facilities include a cloakroom service at the various start locations and an Expo Area for bib number collection, shopping, and medal engraving. The finish line is located in Costa Teguise, where live music and awards ceremonies are held. The organization encourages the use of the local intercity bus system to support sustainable development on the island. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
