Lanark Colour Run
The Lanark Colour Run is a community sports event held in Lanark that focuses on fun and fitness. This non-competitive event invites participants to run, walk, jog, or dance their way through a course while being doused in coloured powder. The event serves as a fundraiser to support the local Lanimer tradition.
Participants can choose from two specific distances:
- 2 km (one lap)
- 4 km (two laps of the course)
The route features multiple colour stations where powder is thrown at participants. Because the colour may not fully wash out, it is recommended that individuals wear old trainers and comfortable sportswear. White or light-coloured clothing is suggested to make the coloured powder more visible.
The event is open to all ages, though participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The course is not suitable for prams or buggies, so all younger participants must be able to complete the route on foot. Toilet facilities are located at the Lanimer Community Shed. Parking is available at the Racecourse Entrance in front of the Lanimer Community Shed and at the car park beside the football facility.
There is no bag storage provided at the venue. Participants should check in at the registration area, marked by a large Lanimer flag, using their e-tickets. Pre-ordered colour pouches are also distributed at this location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
