Lake Macbride Trail Races
The Lake Macbride Trail Races take place at Lake Macbride State Park near Solon, IA on July 18, 2026. The event uses a one-loop course layout; 50K entrants run the full loop twice. The start and finish are at the Macbride Spillway parking area, and the planned route is nearly all on trails with minimal road running.
The course begins on crushed limestone adjacent to the lake, includes an out-and-back on the North Shore trail, moves onto more technical North Snowmobile trails, and then crosses the dam and spillway to a South Loop featuring single track, prairie sections, and notable hills. Aid stations are placed on each loop; the named stations include Opie Road, Start/Finish, University Trails, and Anglers Point.
