Lake Macbride Trail Races : Solon, IA
The Lake Macbride Trail Races take place at Lake Macbride State Park and offer two trail distances. The event uses trails that circle the lake and starts and finishes at the Macbride Spillway parking area. Runners begin on a North Loop that includes crushed limestone adjacent to the lake, an out-and-back on the North Shore trail, and technical sections on the North Snowmobile trails. After returning to the start area participants cross the dam and Spillway to run the South Loop, which features singletrack, prairie, and hilly terrain. The final aid station on the loop is located at the Anglers Point lot; 50K runners complete a second loop.
