Labor Day Triathlon

Distances and Format
The Labor Day Triathlon offers two multi-sport distances: a Sprint and a Novice event. The Sprint distance consists of a 350-yard swim, a 12-mile bike, and a 3.35-mile run. The Novice distance consists of a 150-yard swim, a 2.4-mile bike, and a 1.5-mile run. The event follows a traditional triathlon order: swim, then bike, then run.
Schedule and Location
The event takes place in Bountiful, Utah. The Sprint race starts at 7:30 AM, and the Novice race starts at approximately 8:45 AM. The transition area opens at 5:30 AM and closes at 7:15 AM.
Course and Logistics
The swim portion for both distances takes place in a lap pool at the Bountiful Junior High facility. The bike and run courses are on open roads, not closed to traffic, and participants must follow all traffic laws. A helmet is required for the bike segment. Packet pick-up is on the morning of the race from 5:30 to 7:00 AM in the Bountiful Junior High gym at 550 North 200 West. Participants receive a technical running shirt, a custom race bib, a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments.
Awards and Divisions
An awards ceremony is scheduled for around 10:00 AM. For the Sprint distance, awards are given for age group divisions (13 & Under to 70+) and weight divisions (Athena for women, Clydesdale for men). For the Youth Novice distance (ages 6-13), awards are given for 1st place in each age division. The adult Novice categories (ages 14+) do not have awards.
