Labor Day Triathlon
The Labor Day Triathlon in Bountiful, Utah is a pool-start triathlon held in true triathlon order: swim, bike, run. The event offers two distances and uses a single, shared transition area with specific entry and exit lanes labeled "TRANSITION IN" and "TRANSITION OUT."
Packet pick up is available on race morning at the Bountiful Junior High gym attached to the South Davis Recreation facility, 550 North 200 West, Bountiful, Utah. Parking is available in the facility lot and on nearby streets; offsite parking is offered at Meadowbrook Elementary.
Distances:
- Sprint: 350 yard swim, 12 mile bike, 3.35 mile run
- Novice: 150 yard swim, 2.4 mile bike, 1.5 mile run
Swim segments take place in the competition lap pool with a serpentine lane format; athletes enter feet first, no diving. The transition area is first come, first serve and closes before the swim starts; reentry is not permitted once a racer has left the area. Helmets are required for the bike portion and participants must mount and dismount at designated lines. Roads on the bike and run courses remain open to traffic and participants must follow all traffic laws. The sprint run course includes an aid station offering water, sports drink, and basic first aid.
Participant packages include a gender specific running shirt, finisher medal, bib, post-race refreshments, and sponsor items. Top finishers in Sprint age groups and Youth divisions receive awards; final awards are prepared for pick up after the event. Registration closes the Saturday before the race at 11:59 PM with limited race day registration available at packet pick up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
