Labor Day Francestown 5 2026
The Labor Day Francestown 5 is a community race day in Francestown, New Hampshire, that includes multiple events around the Old Meeting House and Main Street. The program for the day features the following distances:
- 5 miler
- 5k run
- 5k walk
- Kids Fun Run
The Tom Peters 5k is a 3.1 mile scenic loop that begins on Poor Farm Road, turns left on Todd Road where an aid station sits near the halfway point, then continues on Pleasant Pond Road and Route 47 back to Main Street. The loop finishes with a run down Main Street and a finish at the Old Meeting House. Signs mark turns and mile markers. Walkers begin before runners.
The 5 miler route last used in 2025 is just over five miles with about 396 feet of climb. That course leaves the Old Meeting House down the turnpike, turns right on Stevens Road at about 1.3 miles, stays left on Birdsall at the Y, crosses Route 136/Greenfield Road onto Muzzey past three miles, climbs a short rocky section on class 6 King Hill Road, then returns via Perley and Oak Hill to the Old Meeting House.
The Kids Fun Run is a short course near the Old Meeting House and awards a ribbon to each participant. Organizers are planning age bracket awards and top finisher awards. Registration closes on August 30. Parking is allowed on roads leading out of town and at the town recreation fields about one third mile away. After the races water and light snacks are provided and baked goods are available at the horse sheds with gluten free and dairy free options.
