La Cruda 5K & 1 Mile : Old Town Helotes
La Cruda is a New Year running event held in Old Town Helotes on January 1, 2027. The event offers two course options:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
The race includes awards for Overall Male and Female, Overall Masters (40+) Male and Female, plus 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in the following age groups: 1-20, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Finisher medals are given to the first 1500 finishers and the event will sell out at 1500 entries.
Registration pricing is tiered by date with higher fees closer to the event. Gender specific tech shirts are guaranteed for registrations made by midnight December 15, 2026. Packet pick-up includes an early pick-up on Saturday, December 26, and additional packet pick-up at the race site on race day. The event location is 14391 Old Bandera Rd., Helotes, TX 78023.
Children ages 4 to 11 have a separate registration fee with an option to purchase a shirt; they are not eligible for awards. Children 3 and under are free with a paid adult. There are no refunds for personal reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
