KZ5K and Virtual Fun Run/Walk
The KZ5K is an annual community event organized by Casey In Action, taking place in Casey, Illinois. The event features a standard course distance and is available in two different formats:
- 5 km In-person Fun Run/Walk
- 5 km Virtual Fun Run/Walk
The in-person race starts and finishes at 200 East Main Street, located next to the World's Largest Rocking Chair. Participants choosing the virtual option can complete their run or walk at any location between their registration date and September 4.
Participants who register by August 15 are guaranteed an event t-shirt. Race packets for pre-registrants are available for collection at 107 East Main Street on the Thursday before the race or on the morning of the event. A group discount is available for families or teams of five or more people who register together by the August 15 deadline.
The event includes an awards ceremony for in-person participants. Recognition is given to the fastest overall male and female runners, as well as the top three finishers in several age categories, ranging from under 10 to 80 and over. Proceeds from the event are used to support local community projects, including the Casey Popcorn Festival and Big Things in a Small Town initiatives.
