KZ5K and Virtual Fun Run/Walk
KZ5K is a community 5-kilometer event taking place in Casey, Illinois on September 5, 2026. The event is offered in two formats: an in-person 5K run/walk that begins and ends at 200 E. Main Street (next to the World's Largest Rocking Chair), and a virtual 5K that can be completed anytime and anywhere from the registration submission date through September 4.
Registration has two periods: pre-registration through August 15 and a later registration window through September 4. The listed base fee is $30 plus processing and taxes for both the in-person and virtual options. A special group/family discount saves $5 per entrant when five or more entries are submitted together by the August 15 deadline; teams cannot add late entries after that date. T-shirts are guaranteed for entrants who pre-register by August 15; registrants after that date are not guaranteed a shirt.
Pre-registrant packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, September 3 (5:00 to 7:00 p.m.) and on the morning of the event at the porch of Crazy 8’s BBQ, 107 E. Main Street. Registration on race day is listed as available at the same location. Awards for in-person participants recognize overall fastest male and female and the top three male and female finishers in age groups ranging from Under 10 to 80 and over.
