About the race
Medzinárodný maratón mieru (Košice Peace Marathon) is scheduled for 4 October 2026 in Košice, Slovak Republic. The event is organized by Maratónsky klub Košice and Progress Promotion Košice and is governed by the organiser's General Conditions, World Athletics rules and the Slovak Athletic Federation regulations. The marathon course is a certified World Athletics and AIMS city circuit composed of two laps, with the Volvo Half Marathon using one lap. The surface is fully asphalt and the route has only small elevation changes: the difference between lowest and highest points is 16.35 m and the total ascent is 74 m.
Distance markers are placed every kilometre. Refreshment stations with water, isotonic drink and fruit are located at every 5 km, with additional water-only refreshment points between them; mobile toilets are available at each refreshment point. Pacers for target finishing times operate on the course for the marathon and half marathon. The programme includes these competitive disciplines: - Marathon 42.195 km - Volvo Half Marathon 21.097 km - Marathon Relay 42.195 km - Handbike 20 km - Inline 20 km Entry is by online registration via the organiser's registration system.
