Kootenai River Run 5K and 10K
The event features two measured road race options held in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and is presented as part of the Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce Kootenai River Days. Both courses start and finish at the Boundary County Fairgrounds, located about four blocks west of town, and run through and around the city.
Distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
Aid stations are located at the finish line and near the 1 and 2 mile points for 5K runners. For 10K runners, aid stations are placed near the 1, 2, 4, and 5 mile points. Awards include trophies for overall male and female winners and ribbons for the top three finishers in multiple age groups: 0-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
A team competition is offered for groups of five, using combined times to determine the winning team. Drawings for door prizes follow the race, with a grand prize of a $125 gift certificate toward running shoes. Race entry options include a tech t-shirt or a no-shirt choice and separate Canadian pricing. Net proceeds support local student running scholarships and the Bonners Ferry High School cross-country program. Registration and packet pickup occur at the Boundary County Fairgrounds parking lot.
