Kolache Factory 10K
The Kolache Factory 5K/10K/Kids Dash is an annual running event held in the Energy Corridor District of Houston. The race pays tribute to the kolache, a traditional Texas pastry, and features a flat and fast course. The event is hosted at the Addicks Park and Ride, offering an out-and-back route on Park Row Drive.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 10 km run/walk consisting of two loops of the 5 km course.
- 5 km run/walk featuring a single loop.
- Kids Dash for children ages 12 and under on a parking lot loop.
- Virtual 5k/10k option for those completing the distance off-site.
The course is USATF certified and timed using RFID tags located on the participant bibs. Water stations are positioned at the start line and approximately midway through the route. Medical assistance is provided on-site by the Houston Fire Department.
All participants receive a registration packet that includes a performance t-shirt or tank top, a commemorative bib, and a custom die-cast finisher medal. Following the conclusion of the races, refreshments are provided in the post-race hospitality area, including two complimentary kolaches for all participants. The event also serves as a fundraiser for Memorial Assistance Ministries, a local organization supporting families in need. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
