Knoebel Lumber 5K Road Race
The event is a 5K (3.1 miles) held at Knoebel Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA. The course is moderately hilly and uses a mix of gravel and asphalt surfaces. Water is provided at each mile marker and at the finish. The course finishes near the Covered Bridge entrance to Knoebels Campground.
On-site registration is held in Pavilion L. Registration opens on May 15 and closes October 7; on race day registration is available at the pavilion starting at 8:00 a.m. Fees are listed as $25 through October 7 at noon and $30 on race day. The first 250 registrants receive a free t-shirt. Refreshments are provided after the finish and campground showers are available.
Awards include plaques for the top three overall men and women, medals for age group winners three deep for men and women, and five door prizes consisting of $25 Knoebel Lumber gift certificates. Age groups are 9 and under, 10 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over.
