About the race
Klondike Ultra is a weekend trail-running event held at Fort Assiniboine Sandhills Wildland Provincial Park near Edmonton, Alberta. The lineup includes multiple distances: 6 km (Klondike Kids), 10 km (Klondike Rush), 27 km (The Dead Horse), 50 km (Little Klondike), and 100 km (Klondike Ultra). Runners start at Wierenga Flats, tackling wagon-trail climbs, sandy single-track, mossy boreal forests, and fast, packed-down sections along the Athabasca River.
The route also includes beaver crossings, river crossings, and historic Klondike trail landmarks, such as a grave site and a trappers cabin. The atmosphere emphasizes rugged wilderness and diverse distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
