About the race
The Klickitat Trail Races are point to point trail events held along the Klickitat River Trail, organized as two distances.
- Half marathon
- 5k
The half marathon begins at mile marker 0 in Lyle and finishes at the Jerry Lynch Community Center in Klickitat. A shuttle runs from the community center to the half marathon start; participants are expected to be checked in at the community center before the shuttle departs. Runners may leave warm clothing in a drop bag at the start; those bags are returned to the community center.
The 5k starts near mile post 10 of the trail and finishes at the community center. The 5k course is described as medium technical and is intended for both walkers and runners. Shuttle service also carries 5k participants from the community center to the 5k start area.
The event requires pre-registration; no day-of registration is available. Participants in the half marathon should be able to maintain a 16 minute per mile pace. Those falling behind may be asked to turn back for safety and volunteer coverage. The course includes time cutoffs, including a cutoff at mile 10 and a finish cutoff.
