The Kirschlauf in Gierstädt, organized by USV Erfurt, is a traditional running competition that first took place in 2001. The race offers various distances, including a 14-kilometer main run, a 4.5-kilometer fun run, and a 1-kilometer student run. The event attracts numerous participants annually and is part of the TLV Running Cup.
