Keji's Backyard Ultra 2027
Keji's Backyard Ultra takes place at Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site with registration and race logistics centered at the Jim Charles Point parking lot, 2 Jeremys Bay Campground Rd, Annapolis County, NS, Canada. The event is the sixth annual running and is limited to 175 entrants.
The format uses an hourly loop. Each loop is a 6.67 km out-and-back on a gravel trail. Runners must complete each loop within one hour to continue; the event continues with another hour and loop until only one runner completes a loop within the time limit. Runners who finish early rest until the next loop begins.
There is a cash payout structure based on final distance: 50 yards or less pays CA$1,500 to the winner and CA$500 to the assist; 51 to 75 yards pays CA$2,500 to the winner and CA$1,000 to the assist; 76 yards or more pays CA$5,000 to the winner and CA$1,500 to the assist.
Practical notes from the organizer: the race is capped at 175 runners and vehicle parking is limited to two vehicles per runner; additional crew must park elsewhere in the park. Transfers are not allowed; there is a waitlist. Refund policy is 75% refund up to March 1, 2027 and 50% refund up to May 15, 2027. Deferrals are allowed if the registrant volunteers for an eight hour shift at this event or at the Capes 100 in August.
