Karis' Cause 5K
Karis' Cause 5K is scheduled for August 8, 2026 at Rotary Park (OSU-Newark/COTC), 925 Sharon Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43055. The event offers three formats: a timed competitive 5K race, a non-timed 5K fun run/walk, and a 5K virtual option.
The on-site course is paved, starts at Rotary Park and runs alongside the OSU-Newark/COTC campus, includes a crossing of SR 16, and passes near Raccoon Creek. Race packets include a custom t-shirt with the official race logo, a custom race bib, and sponsor items. Water and refreshments will be available at the finish. Participants registered by July 22 are guaranteed a t-shirt; extra shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Awards and results are provided for the timed event: finishers’ medals are awarded to all 5K participants; trophies are given to the top three male and top three female overall; medals are awarded to the top three male and top three female in each age group (14 and under, 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70+). Automatic text and email results are available for participants who opt in, with instant on-site results at results kiosks.
If the in-person race cannot be held for any reason, registrations will be converted to a non-refundable virtual event rather than rescheduled. All proceeds support children and families affected by childhood cancer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
