Kangaroo Island Marathon
The Kangaroo Island Run Festival includes a marathon, a half marathon and a 10 km race held inside Flinders Chase National Park in South Australia. The event is scheduled for 23 August 2026. The festival takes place on Karta Pintingga Country and has been held since 2015.

The race is operated by Marathon Tours & Travel, which offers travel packages for runners and spectators, including multi-night and self-drive options. Over its history the event has attracted participants from 25 countries and from every Australian state.
The course runs through Flinders Chase National Park and passes areas of post-bushfire regenerating flora and fauna. Runners encounter undulating and deviating roads, an exposed coastal section with cliff top views to the southern ocean, and a boardwalk that leads to the Remarkable Rocks. The Kangaroo Island Run Festival received a bronze medal at the 2021 South Australian Tourism Awards for Best Regional Event & Festival, an award that noted the event’s resilience following the 2019-2020 bushfires.
