Challenge and charity
Just A Short Run is part of the GCXC "Conquer the Cold" Winter Challenge, which bundles this race with the Frigid 5 Miler and the Spring Thaw. Participants who register for and complete all three events through the challenge bundle receive a commemorative GCXC Winter Challenge finisher medal and the individual race swag items listed for each event. Registration for the challenge must use the challenge bundle to qualify for these perks.
Founded in 2001 to honor someone who died of leukemia, the event has raised funds for local charities focused on leukemia and blood-borne cancers.
