Just A Short Run : North Park Boathouse, Allison Park, PA
Just A Short Run is an annual road running event held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the North Park Boathouse in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. The event was founded in 2001 to honor a person who died of leukemia in 1995 and has raised tens of thousands of dollars to benefit local charities working on leukemia and blood borne cancers.
Organizers include the race founder, the GCXC Race Timing Team, running community volunteers and local youth groups. The event continues a partnership launched in 2025 with the organization Cancer Bridges to help people diagnosed with cancer and their families.
The race transforms North Park into marked courses and offers multiple distances:

- 8.1 Mile
- Half Marathon
- 30K
A community group run is scheduled on February 7 with distances from 1 to 16 miles and pace groups ranging from walkers to 7:30 minute per mile. The event is part of the GCXC Conquer the Cold Winter Challenge, which links the Frigid 5 Miler, the Spring Thaw, and Just A Short Run; challenge finishers receive commemorative medals and event apparel as described by the organizers.
