Juniper Canyon Half Marathon
The Juniper Canyon Half Marathon on May 1, 2027 is a trail race in Herriman, Utah that starts and finishes at Butterfield Park. The course covers 13.1 miles with about +1,681 feet of total elevation change and is roughly 93% single track and 7% paved. The route follows the Herriman City Trail System and includes Diamondback Trail, Eric's Trail, Mustang Trail, and the Bonneville Shoreline Trail in a lollipop loop that returns to the park.
Aid stations are placed along the course and may be up to 5.9 miles apart. Stations typically offer Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and occasional candies. The course is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals, and organizers note that the route becomes easy to follow after the first quarter mile. There is no cutoff time for finishing.
Participants receive a high quality race shirt and a locally made finisher medal. Post race food includes seasonal breads from Great Harvest Bread, chocolate milk, orange juice, and bananas. Parking is free. The event limits the half marathon field to 200 runners. Registration closes April 30 at 11:59 PM MT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
