Juniper Canyon Half Marathon - May 1, 2027
The Juniper Canyon Half Marathon is a spring trail race in Herriman, Utah that starts and finishes at Butterfield Park. The course travels through canyons, ridgelines, and foothills with views of the Wasatch Valley and Mountains. The route is mostly single track and includes a loop that uses the Herriman City Trail System, Diamondback Trail, Eric's Trail, Mustang Trail, and the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
The course distance is 13.1 miles with a total elevation gain of +1,681 ft. Surface composition is listed as 93% single track and 7% paved. Segment details include: Start to Secret Canyon Aid 3.9 miles (+784/-249 ft); Canyon Aid to Canyon Aid 5.3 miles (+668/-668 ft); Secret Canyon Aid to Finish 3.9 miles (+249/-784 ft). Navigation is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals. Aid stations are described as well stocked and may include Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and occasional sweets; aid stations can be up to 5.9 miles apart, so runners are advised to carry water.
Entry limits and event services are provided. The half marathon has a 200 runner cap. Registration tiers listed are Early $60, Regular $70, and Late $80 with late registration running April 1 through April 30 and closing April 30 at 11:59 PM MT. Packet pickup occurs Friday at the Sandy Salt Lake Running Store and race day pickup begins early morning. The event offers a race shirt, locally made finisher and age medals, live results, free race photos without watermarks, a post race Great Harvest Bread breakfast, and awards for overall and age divisions.
