Jungfrau-Marathon Interlaken
The Jungfrau-Marathon is a multi-day running event held in Interlaken, Switzerland. The main event features a 42.195 km course. In addition to the marathon, the program includes several secondary races such as the Minirun, the Minimarathon, the Harder Run Race, and the Pararace.
The event offers a variety of distances and formats:
- Marathon: 42.195 km
- Minimarathon: 4.2 km (Fun Run)
- Harder Run Race: 4.4 km mountain run with 755 meters of altitude gain from Interlaken to Harder Kulm
- Minirun: 200 m to 1600 m for children and youth up to 16 years old
- Pararace: 200 m to 4.4 km for athletes with disabilities, organized in cooperation with PluSport
- Lauberhorn Run: 4.48 km on snow with 1028 meters of altitude gain (held in March)
The Friday races take place around the Höhematte in the center of Interlaken. For children, a "Kids-Village" is set up in the Kursaalgarten, featuring an obstacle course, a bouncy castle, and a play corner. The event also includes a Marathon Village with an expo and a pasta party.
The organizers provide training opportunities, such as a dedicated training day to get to know the second half of the marathon course under the guidance of running coaches.
