About the race
The Journey Home Road Race is a community running event in Devens, Massachusetts held on November 8, 2026. The event benefits Veteran Pathways of New England, a wellness-based veterans community center, and donates net proceeds to that organization. The course is a 3.1 mile loop adjacent to the grounds of Fort Devens; the 10k is two laps of this loop. The start and finish are located near the Veteran Pathways headquarters on Antietam Street.
Race options include:
- 5k run or walk around the 3.1 mile course.
- 5k non-competitive ruck; ruck as fast and with as much weight as desired.
- 5k dog walk with a commemorative medal for participants.
- 10k run or competitive ruck which is two laps; competitive ruck requires 35 pounds or more.
Awards are presented to top finishers in competitive categories, with specific recognition for top finishers in the 5k and 10k runs and the competitive 10k ruck. All participants receive a commemorative dog-tag medal. There is one water station at about 1.55 miles on Antietam Street. Packet pickup is available race morning near parking and the start area; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who signs a waiver. Registration is final with no refunds or deferrals; bib transfers are allowed with a request received one week prior to race weekend. The event includes a Hero's Mile sign program and a post-race celebration hosted by Columbia Tavern and Yuengling. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
