Event Overview
The Jordan River Marathon takes place on September 19, 2026. The start and finish location is East Riverfront Park at 10911 S River Front Pkwy in South Jordan, Utah. The event offers a marathon and a half marathon distance.
Course Details
The route follows the Jordan River Parkway Trail, a paved trail system. Runners will pass wetlands, parks, golf courses, ponds, and bridges. The marathon course is 26.2 miles with 995 feet of total elevation gain and is 99% paved trail. The half marathon is 13.1 miles with 226 feet of total elevation gain and is 95% paved trail. The course is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and has trail marshals at major intersections. There is a cutoff time for the marathon finish at 2:00 PM.
Registration and Amenities
Registration closes on September 18, 2026. Prices vary for early, normal, and late registration periods. Runners receive a race shirt and a locally made finisher medal. A post-race breakfast from Great Harvest Bread is provided, including cinnamon rolls and bread. Free race photos are offered, taken by Xotio Media. Aid stations are stocked with Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and other snacks. They also have basic first aid supplies.
Other Information
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the Sandy Salt Lake Running Store and on race day at the starting line. There is free parking with hundreds of spaces near the park.
