Joplin RoadRunners' 43rd Annual Pumpkin Run
This event is held on 10/25/2026 in Carthage, Missouri, with start and finish at the Leggett & Platt front parking lot, 1 Leggett Rd. Courses run almost entirely on Leggett Rd and the Ruby Jack trail. The course is described as flat and shaded for autumn conditions.
Distances offered:
- 1 Mile: half-mile out-and-back; participation awards only.
- 2 Miles: one-mile out-and-back; chip timed; qualifies for awards.
- 8K (5 Mile): 2.5M out-and-back; chip timed; qualifies for awards.
- 10 Miles: two loops of 5M course; chip timed; halfway cut-off 1:15h.
- Virtual options: any single or combination of events; T-shirt and award included.
Timing and certification vary by distance. Certified times are provided for the 2 Mile, 8K/5M and 10 Mile races and may qualify participants for state listings. The 10 Mile serves as the RRCA State Championship at that distance; RRCA medals and cash awards are specified for overall and masters winners.
Prizes are pumpkins decorated by the Early Learning Center, with larger pumpkins for top clock-times in the 2 Mile, 8K and 10 Mile races and participation pumpkins for the first 100 finishers. Age-group awards, age-graded awards, finish line entertainment, vendors, free downloadable finish-line photos, and a drawing of gift certificates are part of the event. Dogs on non-retractable leashes and strollers are allowed in the 1 Mile and 2 Mile runs. A tech long-sleeve shirt or hoodie is available.
