Joplin RoadRunners' 43rd Annual Pumpkin Run
The event starts and finishes at the Leggett & Platt front parking lot in Carthage, Missouri, and is held mostly on Leggett Road and the Ruby Jack trail. Multiple in-person distances plus a virtual option are offered.
- 1 Mile: participation awards only, no chip timing
- 2 Mile: chip timed, USATF certified, qualifies for awards
- 8K (5 Mile): one loop on 5M course, chip timed, USATF certified
- 10 Mile: two loops on 5M course, chip timed, USATF certified

- Virtual: run any single or combination, T shirt and finisher award included
Certified times are issued for the 2M, 5M/8K and 10M distances and may qualify for state listings and age record consideration. A 5M chip time will count as an 8K certified time and be listed as 8K when applicable. The 10M course uses a midway cut-off of 1 hour 15 minutes at the 5M point.
Prizes are pumpkins decorated by children at the Early Learning Center, with largest pumpkins for top male and female clock-times in the 2M, 8K and 10M. The 10M serves as the RRCA State Championship with medals and cash awards for specified categories. Age group awards, age-graded prizes, vendors, finish line entertainment, free downloadable photos, optional tech shirts or hoodies, and a drawing for ten $25 gift certificates are included. The course is described as flat and shaded in season. Dogs and strollers are allowed in the 1M and 2M runs only; dogs must be on non-retractable leashes.
