Joker Run/Walk
The Joker Run/Walk takes place in Unadilla, New York, starting and ending at the YFC Teen Center at 16 Watson Street. This event features two distinct distances for participants to choose from:
- 3.6 miles: A running event involving the collection of playing cards.
- 1.1 miles: A walking event.
The 3.6-mile run includes a unique "Joker prize" element where participants collect playing cards along the route. The individual who finds the most Joker cards receives a prize. Medals are awarded for first, second, and third place across various age categories, with special prizes reserved for the overall fastest male and female runners in the 3.6-mile distance.
Participants are encouraged to wear costumes for a organized costume contest. Registration is available in advance or on the morning of the event at the Teen Center. For those choosing to walk, registration is free for children aged 10 and under. T-shirts are provided to the first 50 paid and registered participants, though these are not available for the free children's walk category. The course for the run includes a long hill section.
