Event Overview
The Jingle Bell Run - Mount Vernon is the 23rd annual edition of this holiday-themed athletic event. Hosted at the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, the race serves as the final installment of the 12-part 2026 County-Wide Stride race series. Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 6 km run
- 2 mile walk
The course highlights historic Renfro Valley, starting and finishing at the entertainment center. An aid and water station is positioned at the turnaround point, and officials supervise the route throughout the event. Those registered as walkers are required to walk the entire distance, while those planning to combine running and walking must register for the 6 km run.
Rewards and Incentives
The event features several competitive and festive categories. A cash prize is awarded to the overall top male and female finishers, and unique age group awards are provided for participants ranging from under 12 to over 80 years old. A costume contest recognizes the best holiday-themed attire. Along the course, participants can find "Santa’s Surprise Gift Grab" packages containing cash, gifts, or coal.
Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a commemorative long-sleeve shirt. The event also includes a hospitality area offering snacks and refreshments. Through the Student Strides program, students aged 4-18 may participate without a registration fee. Proceeds from the event benefit the Miracle Fund, which supports long-term care residents at the Rockcastle Regional Respiratory Care Center.
