Event details
The Jailbreak 5K takes place on Saturday, November 8, 2025 in Mobile, Alabama. The race starts and finishes at Mardi Gras Park on South Royal Street. There are two event categories: Adult and Youth (12 and under). The event is organized by Family of the Fallen.
Registration and fees
Entry fees listed are $30 for the Adult event and $25 for the Youth event. Registration options include mail (entries postmarked by October 21), in-person registration at local running stores (McCoy Outdoor, Run-N-Tri, Fleet Feet in Mobile) until November 6, and online registration until November 7. Race day packet pick-up and race day registration are available at Mardi Gras Park near the corner of Royal and Government Street. Entry fees include an inmate t-shirt, fugitive ID bib, recovery contraband, and winners’ loot.
Course, awards and post-race
The certified 5K course starts at Mardi Gras Park and passes the Mobile County Jail and several bonding companies. The route uses flat, shaded roads and is described as designed for breakout speeds. Awards are given to the top male and female overall and to the top three male and female in age groups from 9 and under up to 80+. After the race finish at Mardi Gras Park, there is a photo area set up as a makeshift jail cell, and awards, snacks and beverages are provided.
