Jailbreak 5K, Mobile AL
The Jailbreak 5K is a certified 5K road race held on November 14, 2026, with both adult and youth (12 and under) events. The start and finish are located at Mardi Gras Park on South Royal Street in Mobile, Alabama.
The course runs past the Mobile County Jail and several bonding companies and follows flat, shaded roads. The organizer describes the route as themed around a jail break; a makeshift jail cell at the finish area provides a photo opportunity for finishers.
Registration options include mailed entries (postmarked by October 28), in-person registration at McCoy Outdoor, Run-N-Tri, or Fleet Feet in Mobile through November 13, and online registration through November 13. Race day packet pick-up and race day registration are available at Mardi Gras Park. To guarantee a shirt on race day, applications and fees must be submitted by October 21; shirts may remain available after that date.
Entry fees and included items vary by event. Entry benefits listed by the organizer include an inmate t-shirt, a fugitive ID bib, recovery contraband, and prizes for winners. Awards are given to the top male and female overall and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
