Event description
This is a community 5K run/walk held in memory of a family member and focused on suicide prevention and men’s mental health. The event takes place at Fort Ringgold Historic Site in Rio Grande City, Texas, on June 27, 2026. It is organized to raise awareness, encourage open conversation about mental health, and reduce stigma around seeking support.
The event is non-timed. All participants will receive finisher medals. A race shirt is available for participants who register before June 17, 2026.
Registration opens June 11, 2026. There are two registration options with different closing dates and fees:
- 3.1 miles - 5K with shirt; $25; registration closes June 18, 2026.
- 3.1 miles - 5K without shirt; $5; registration closes June 27, 2026.

The event is presented as a community remembrance and awareness effort that combines a short road course with the distribution of medals and optional shirts for registered participants.
