Jackson County Ultras is a multi-distance trail race held at the PYOCA Camp and Retreat Center near Brownstown, Indiana. The event offers a mix of trail distances and a relay option on a rugged course that alternates direction annually; 2026 is run clockwise.
Distances include:
- 10 Mile course starting at PYOCA Lodge
- 50k trail distance
- 100k solo course, roughly 62 miles with about +9270 ft ascent and -9196 ft descent
- 100k 2-6 person relay
The event features well stocked aid stations, live tracking for the 100k and 100k relay, and real time results published to major results platforms. A 24 hour cut-off applies to all distances. The 100k finisher receives a belt buckle; finisher medals and age group awards are provided for all distances. Prize amounts for 2026 are pending and noted in the guidebook.
On-site amenities include indoor heated space for drop bags and crew, weekend cabin packages with meals, post-race food service, access to showers, and nearby primitive camping with first-come sites. Volunteer roles are available; volunteers serving six or more hours receive event entry to a future DINO event plus a shirt and meal.
