IU Indianapolis Jaguar 5K
The IU Indianapolis Jaguar 5K is a community running and walking event held in downtown Indianapolis. The race starts and finishes at Carroll Stadium on the IU Indianapolis campus. The route is designed to be a scenic downtown run that begins on campus, crosses the river, and returns to the start. To improve participant safety, the course is planned to minimize street crossings.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- Jaguar 5K (Timed): A professionally timed race using electronic timing bibs.
- Jaguar 5K (Not Timed): This option follows the same course but does not include timing results.
The event is held in celebration of National Recovery Month and raises funds for addiction recovery scholarships for students. These scholarships support individuals in recovery from substance use and behavioral addictions. The initiative is part of the university's Collegiate Recovery Community program.
Registered participants receive a commemorative race medal upon finishing. A participation shirt is provided to those who register by the specified August deadline. Official results for the timed event are available for review after the race. Prizes are awarded to the top male and female finishers in both adult and youth categories.
