Event
The Isle of Harris race weekend is scheduled for early July 2026 on the Isle of Harris, Scotland. Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon - £36
- 5K - £20
- Fun Run - £5
Entries close Sunday 28 June 2026. Registration is located at Sir E. Scott Primary School and the race base is within the sports hub at the local high school in West Tarbert, a short walk from the ferry terminal.
Course and logistics
The half marathon route runs along the west side of the island past sandy beaches, then climbs across loch-strewn moorland before descending toward the ferry port of Tarbert. The highest point on the course is 140 m. The documented start area is just north of Borve and the finish is on the A859 onto Old Pier Road behind the school. Water stops are provided at roughly three-mile intervals. Buses transfer runners from the school bus turning area to the start line.
Prizes and entry policy
Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall and for male and female winners in age categories 40, 50 and 60, plus prizes for the first local runners and the first team. Refunds are not normally offered except in exceptional circumstances; deferrals may be possible to the following year and swaps are not available.
