The 25th Annual Irvington Turkey Trot & Animal Food Drive takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Irvington Town Commons, 98 King Carter Drive, Irvington, VA 22480. The event offers these distances:
- 2 miles
- 5 miles
- 2 & 5 miles (both races)
- Tot Trot (free)
Entry fees listed are $30 for the 2-mile and 5-mile events, $35 for participating in both races, and no fee for the Tot Trot. There will be no race day registration. The 2-mile and 5-mile courses are described as scenic loop routes through historic Irvington neighborhoods and are suitable for participants with leashed pets. All 2-mile and 5-mile participants receive a custom race T-shirt while supplies last. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in age groups: 8 and under; 9-12; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 and over. Organizers request that participants follow COVID-19 recommended safety guidelines.
Charity and logistics
The event includes an animal food drive supporting the Animal Welfare League (AWL) and Garfield’s Rescue. Volunteers from these organizations serve Lancaster, Northumberland, Westmoreland, and Richmond counties. Attendees are asked to consider bringing dog and cat food to the gazebo as a drop-off location. Suggested donation amounts listed are $20, $25, $30, and $50.
