26th Annual Irvington Turkey Trot
The Village Improvement Association (VIA) organizes the annual Irvington Turkey Trot, a community event held on Thanksgiving Day in the Northern Neck region of Virginia. Participants follow a scenic route through the neighborhoods of Historic Irvington. The event takes place rain or shine and serves as a fundraiser, with a portion of the proceeds providing financial support to animal rescue organizations and shelters in Lancaster County.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 2 Mile Race
- 5 Mile Race
- Tot Trot (free for children)
Registration is available for individual races or as a combined entry for both the 2 Mile and 5 Mile events. The Tot Trot does not require registration. Participants, sponsors, and volunteers receive a custom T-shirt while supplies last. Registration is conducted online in advance, with a late walk-in registration and packet pick-up window available the day before the race at the Irvington Baptist Church. There is no registration available on the day of the event.
The competition includes various age divisions for both male and female runners, ranging from under 8 to 80 and over. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 2 Mile and 5 Mile races, as well as the top three finishers within each specific age division.
