26th Annual Irvington Turkey Trot & Animal Rescue Donation Drive
The Irvington Turkey Trot is a long-standing Thanksgiving tradition held in Historic Irvington, Virginia. The event features scenic routes through local neighborhoods and is organized by the volunteers of the Village Improvement Association. Beyond the athletic competition, the event serves a charitable purpose, with a portion of the race proceeds supporting animal welfare organizations within Lancaster County.
Participants can choose from several road race options:
- 2 Miles: A road race for runners and walkers.
- 5 Miles: A road race for runners.
- 2 & 5 Miles: An option to participate in both timed events.
- Tot Trot: A 50-yard non-timed fun run for children.
Both the 2-mile and 5-mile races utilize chip/tag timing. Registration for these distances include a custom race T-shirt while supplies last. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the top three in age groups ranging from 8 and under to 80 and over.
The event takes place rain or shine, starting from the Irvington Town Commons. Early packet pickup and late registration are available the day before the race at the Irvington Baptist Church, but there is no registration available on the day of the event. The 50-yard Tot Trot does not require registration or a fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
