Event Overview
The IRVINE 4th of July-Red, White, & Blue 5k & 1 Mile is a patriotic running event held on July 4, 2026 at Irvine Valley College. The event features multiple race distances suitable for all ages.
Distances
The following events are offered:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile fun run
- Zero K (a non-racing option to collect event items and cheer)
- Diaper Dash 100 yards and Kid's 200 yards
- 5k & 1 Mile COMBO race (participants receive one shirt, two medals, and two bibs)
Course & Location
The course is described as flat and fast, an out-and-back route that takes place entirely on the Irvine Valley College campus. The event staging is in Lot 5, with entrance only from Jeffrey Road. A $5 parking fee per vehicle is required.
Event Features
The race begins with a live performance of the National Anthem. A live Fife & Drum Corps provides entertainment before the race and is available for photos. The atmosphere includes live music. All registered participants receive a custom 4th of July themed shirt and a large 4-inch finisher medal. The 5K and 1 Mile events are chip-timed. Age group awards are presented for many categories. Strollers are permitted.
Registration Inclusions & Amenities
Registration includes a custom race bib, chip timing, water and fruit at the finish line, and eligibility for awards. Food and refreshments, such as street tacos, tamales, coffee, cookies, and fruit, are available for purchase. Participants can pick up their bib and shirt on race morning starting at 6:30 AM or at an optional early packet pickup on July 3. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
