Iron Eagle Paddle and Run
Iron Eagle Paddle and Run is a run-paddle-run event at Eagle Creek Park that raises funds for park trail maintenance. The course consists of two trail runs and a paddle leg on the park reservoir. Participants receive a custom medal, a t-shirt, and access to a post-race party at the beach finish.
The event accepts individuals and several team formats. Divisions include individual, 2-person team, 2-person relay, and 3-person relay. Awards are presented for first place individual female and male, first place two-person team, and first place two-person relay. The 3-person relay is allowed but is not eligible for awards.
Key race features
- 2.6 miles first trail run
- 1.5 miles paddle on Eagle Creek reservoir
- 2.6 miles second trail run back to the beach
Competitors may bring their own kayaks, canoes, or other watercraft if they provide appropriate lifejackets and paddles. Boat rentals are available through Eagle Creek Outfitters; rental fees include a contribution to the Foundation. The race begins and ends at the beach, with the marina serving as the boat transition and drop-off area. A course map and race details are provided by the organizers. Proceeds support specific trail projects, including a bridge completed on the Orange trail and planned renovations for the amphitheater and Red Trail.
