About the race
The Ireland West 3/4 Marathon event in Swinford, Co. Mayo takes place on 5 September 2026 and offers three measured road races: 3/4 Marathon, 10k, and 5k. Race registration and race HQ are located in the Swinford Community Centre. Limited parking is available at the Community Centre, Swinford GAA Club, Swinford Amenity Park and Tesco car park; stewards will direct traffic on the day.
Registration packs issued in person include a bib with timing chip, pins and a T shirt for the first 250 online entries. Registration opens on the day and there is also an evening registration the day before. Entry fees are non-refundable and entries cannot be transferred to someone else. A bag drop is provided at race HQ at the owner’s risk. Changing rooms and showers are available at nearby facilities.
All routes have been accurately measured and certified by AAI and route maps will be displayed in the registration hall. Marshals will be posted at major junctions and kilometre markers are provided for guidance. Civil Defence and Order of Malta will provide medical cover on course and at the finish area. The course will be closed after 4.5 hours.
Refreshment stations: 10 on the 3/4 Marathon at roughly 3 km intervals, 3 on the 10k and 1 on the 5k; stations supply bottled water, water in cups, fruit segments, fruit cake and sweets. Finisher medals are handed out at the finish line and prize categories include overall and age-group placings for each race, plus local and club awards.
