Indy Races 2026
Indy Races is a community running event on September 19, 2026 at Lake Shawnee in Topeka, KS. The event is offered in person at 3400 SE Leisure Lane, Shelter 1, and also as a virtual option. The event’s mission is to raise funds to support families affected by pediatric illnesses and to provide ongoing assistance to organizations that operate primarily on donations and volunteers.
Multiple race distances are offered:
- 1 Mile
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
- Race Around the Lake (6.8 Miles)
- Virtual options: 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, or 6.8 miles
The virtual option allows participants to walk, run, jog, bike, or swim and can be completed anywhere, including indoors, outdoors, at the gym, or on a treadmill. A registration fee of $40.00 is listed for the events. Each participant receives a commemorative race bib and a commemorative finishers medal. The event takes place during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and combines physical activity with fundraising for charitable organizations.
