About the race
The CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon weekend on November 7, 2026 includes marathon, half marathon, and 5K races that start and finish in downtown Indianapolis.
The certified courses are USATF certified and described as fast and flat. The event includes the following distances:
- 26.2 miles
- 13.1 miles
- 5K
The event is listed among the 15 largest marathons in the U.S. and has hosted Olympians, thousands of Boston Marathon qualifiers, and many runners seeking personal records since 2008. Spectators can watch along downtown streets, through historic neighborhoods, and past notable monuments.
Indianapolis is within a day’s drive of over half of the U.S. population and the LEED certified airport is about 15 minutes from downtown. Downtown hotels and the Mile Square district are positioned near the race start and finish. The city offers parks, museums, zip lines, restaurants, breweries, and cultural institutions for visitors during race weekend.
General registration for all in-person distances is sold out. Limited charity entries remain available. The event is organized by Beyond Monumental, a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports youth health and well being through running events and programs.
