I'm A Dam Runner 5K
The I'm A Dam Runner 5K is an annual event held at Green River Lake in Campbellsville, Kentucky. The race takes place on United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) property and follows a closed course along the dam that creates the lake. Participants can choose between two primary events:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
The course is an out-and-back route that is entirely paved and mostly flat. It offers views of Green River Lake throughout the majority of the distance. At the turnaround point, participants enter a fenced area on the right and make a left turn to access the aid station. The event has an overall participation limit of 400 runners and walkers.
The race utilizes chip timing, with the timing chip located on the participant's bib. While strollers and wagons are permitted and must start at the back of the group, dogs are not allowed on the course. All participants on the course must be registered with a signed waiver and a visible bib.
A portion of the proceeds from the event supports The Friends of Green River Lake, an organization dedicated to recreation and conservation efforts in the area. Parking is available in a designated grass area at the USACE Green River Lake Visitor Center. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
