Ian Roberts Memorial Fell Race - Event details
The Ian Roberts Memorial Fell Race takes place on 15 March 2026 and is organised by Holmfirth Harriers. The event is based at Marsden Cricket Club, Mount Road, Marsden, West Yorkshire, HD7 6NN. Entry is limited to 200 competitors. Online entry fees are £7 for FRA members and £9 for non-members; on-the-day entry may be available for an extra £1 if the entry limit has not been reached. Minimum age on the day is 18 years. Registration is at the cricket club.
Course and logistics
The course is 6.5 miles (10.3 km) with 260 m (850 ft) of ascent. The route runs over boggy, rough moorland on the edge of the Pennines and uses sections of the Pennine Way and the Standedge Trail. It includes an ascent of Pule Hill, tussocky trods, footbridges and stream crossings. One footbridge has been removed by Yorkshire Water, so runners should expect to cross a stream and to get their feet wet at that point. The race start is about a 10 minute walk from registration. Competitors may be required to carry full FRA kit; the kit requirements for the day will be posted at the cricket club. Hot and cold drinks and a cake spread are provided after the race.
