Virgin Active HYROX Johannesburg is a multi-day fitness race held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg, South Africa. The event runs across three days and includes a range of competition divisions such as HYROX Men, HYROX Women, Pro divisions, Doubles (men, women, mixed, pro doubles), Relay formats (including corporate and Virgin Active relay), and Adaptive categories. Age group award ceremonies are scheduled for each division, and certain age groups may earn qualification slots for the HYROX World Championships.
Athlete entries receive a race package that includes a HYROX finishers patch, individual finisher time with split timings for each workout, and live posting of result times on the event leaderboard. Aid stations are placed pre-event, during the course and post-event. Professional race photography is provided by Sportograf; athletes can use facial-recognition tools and a selfie upload to locate photos after the race.
Ticketing options include Flex Add-Ons that allow name changes and, for some options, partial or full refunds within specified deadlines measured in South Africa Standard Time. Tickets without a Flex Add-On have no post-purchase changes or refunds. Important race administration notes state that athletes must bring ID, checking in on behalf of others is not allowed, and on-site check-in is only possible on the day of competition for that athlete.
