Hyattville Cowboy Carnival 5K Run-Walk & Kids K
The Hyattville Cowboy Carnival combines a community carnival with organized running events in Hyattville, Wyoming. The day features a 5K run-walk and a Kids K as part of a larger program of activities that includes a quilt show, sheep dog trials, kids events, a photo contest, a pie contest, a shooting contest, a live auction, and a home-cooked BBQ lunch.
Distances offered:
- 5K run-walk on improved gravel roads
- 1K Kids K loop around town on gravel roads
The 5K course is an out-and-back route that begins at the Community Center, heads east toward the Bighorn Mountains along Paintrock Creek, climbs to a ridge with valley views, then returns to town past the corrals. Race packet pickup and registration take place at the start/finish area. Awards are presented for the 5K.
Entry fees are stated as follows: the 5K entry is $30 plus an online sign-up fee, with a higher day-of-race fee; the Kids 1K is free for ages 1 through 13, or available for $20 with a tee shirt, with a higher fee on the day of the event. A separate main gate admission covers access to carnival activities and the BBQ; gate fees include adult, child, and family options and include lunch and entertainment.
Proceeds from the event support the Community Center operating and maintenance expenses for the following calendar year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
