Event Overview
The Hungry Dog Dash is an annual community event held at NTC Park in Liberty Station, San Diego. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Point Loma High School Cross Country team, with proceeds supporting travel expenses, registration fees, uniforms, and equipment for student athletes. The 5 km course is USATF certified and sanctioned, featuring a flat route that loops past the USS Recruit and follows the waterfront.
Participants are organized into two starting pace corrals to accommodate different speeds. The first corral is designated for competitive runners, while the second corral is for joggers, walkers, children, and those participating with pets.

Participation and Logistics
The event is open to participants of all ages. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted on the course, though skates, skateboards, and bicycles are prohibited. Leashed dogs may accompany registered runners at no additional cost. Every registrant receives a race t-shirt, a swag bag with sponsor giveaways, and a dog tag.
Finish line activities include a community vendor village, live music, and an awards ceremony. Recognition is given to the top male and female runners, as well as the top three finishers in each division. A pre-race packet pickup is typically held the day before the event at a local sports retailer, with race-day pickup also available at the park.
