Howell Melon Run
Howell Recreation with presenting sponsor ChemTrend present the 49th Annual Howell Melon Run on August 14, 2026 in downtown Howell, Michigan. The event welcomes runners, walkers, and participants using wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
The program includes a variety of family events: the Howell Melon Roll, One in a Melon Mile, the Mascot Dash, the Howell Melon 5k, and a combined Melon Mile and 5k. The Melon Roll is open to ages 2 to 5.
Early packet pickup is scheduled for August 11 through August 13 at the Bennett Recreation Center, 925 W Grand River Ave, Howell MI. Race day packets will also be available on site. Organizers will send a reminder email with additional details before the event.
One hundred percent of net proceeds are designated to provide community programs for the Howell area. Registrations received on or before July 27, 2026 are guaranteed a short sleeved shirt; registrations after that date are not eligible for a shirt. Any leftover shirts will be available for purchase one week after the race for $20 each.
Race timing is electronic and managed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Accurate chip times and current overall and age group placings will be provided via text and posted online. Awards include overall male and female, masters male and female, and finisher medals. A referral program offers a refund of up to $25 for 5k runners through online registration codes.
