Howell Melon Run
The Howell Melon Run is the 49th annual community event presented by Howell Recreation and ChemTrend in downtown Howell on August 14, 2026. The program includes multiple short and longer races and several family-oriented activities.
Event distances include:
- 10 yards Melon Roll
- 1 mile One in a Melon Mile
- 5K Howell Melon 5k Run
- Combined entry for the mile and 5K
Packet pickup is scheduled August 11 to 13 at the Benneett Recreation Center, 925 W Grand River Ave, Howell MI 48843. Race day packets will also be available on-site. Organizers will send a reminder with pickup details before the event.
Registration opens January 2, 2026. Deadlines and fees vary by event. Registrations on or before July 27, 2026 are guaranteed a short-sleeved shirt; registrations after that date will not receive a shirt. Leftover shirts may be available for purchase after the race.
One hundred percent of net proceeds go to providing community programs for the Howell area. The event is chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Accurate chip times, overall and age group places will be available live and sent to participants. Awards include overall and masters male and female placements, plus finisher medals.
