Event overview

Houston Party in the Park is a free community event presented by HARRA at Memorial Park - west of the Tennis Center in Houston, TX 77006. The event takes place in August and is held on the grass west of the Tennis Center. It includes free refreshments such as watermelon, Gatorade, and other beverages, plus live music and a live DJ and music zone. RSVP options are available for individuals and for run club, vendor, and sponsor tent space reservations. Tent space reservation for HARRA-associated run clubs is free; HARRA running club membership is listed as $30 per year. Volunteers are requested for setup, tear down, and food and beverage service, with HARRA members eligible for volunteer program credit.

Activities and community runs

All runs meet in front of the Party in the Park Arch. The morning schedule features organized group runs and activities led by local clubs, including a loop challenge and club-led training runs. Pace groups are offered for a run/walk program at about 11–13 and 14–15 minutes per mile. There are also community events for children and families, and open mic sessions in front of the HARRA tent with short slots. The event concludes with closing remarks, a raffle, and prize giveaways.
