Houston Heights Fun Run
The Houston Heights Fun Run is scheduled for October 10, 2026 at Marmion Park, 1800 Heights Boulevard, Houston, TX 77008. The event is organized by the Houston Heights Association and marks the 41st annual running of the race, which began in 1985 and has been held each year since.
The event offers both in person and virtual options for the following distances:
- 10K Run - USATF certified, code TX17062LAB
- 5K Run or Walk - USATF certified, code TX17061LAB
- Kids 1K - for children 12 and under
For the in person option the courses start and finish at Marmion Park (18th Street). The 5K course turns at 5th Street. The 10K completes the 5K loop twice. The 1K course turns at 15th Street. Heights Boulevard will be closed to passing traffic for the in person races and patrolling deputies from Precinct 1 Constable's Office will be present.
Awards are presented for top three male and top three female finishers by age group in the 5K and 10K. Age groups are Under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Top three male and female Kids 1K finishers receive awards with no age groups.
Packet pick up is scheduled for October 4 at the Historic Houston Heights Fire Station, 107 W. 12th Street. Registration opens March 31, 2026; in person registration windows close July 1, 2026 while virtual registration remains open until October 9, 2026. The shirt guarantee date is September 25 and shirts issued after that date are not guaranteed. Registrations are non refundable and non transferable unless optional registration insurance was purchased.
