Hot Summer Singletrack Trail Race

The Hot Summer Singletrack at Franke Park in Fort Wayne brings together mountain bike riders, trail runners, and wheelchair athletes on the park's technical dirt trails and on paved and gravel sections. Events are held in three hour and six hour formats and include on-site food and beverage support for participants.

Distances and formats:

  • Six Hour MTB: 60 miles on a seven-mile technical dirt trail loop.
  • Three Hour MTB: 30 miles on a seven-mile technical dirt trail loop.
  • Six Hour trail run: 31 miles on a three-mile technical dirt loop as a solo runner.
  • Three Hour trail run: 18 miles on a three-mile technical dirt loop as a solo runner.
  • Six Hour wheelchair: timed on paved path and gravel road.
  • Three Hour wheelchair: timed on paved path and gravel road.

Awards are given to the winner in each category. A tent city is located near the hub at the base of Derby Hill where participants and crews may set up a base camp. Packet pickup is available in the days before the event. Picnic-style food, water, hydration mixes, Coke and Sprite are provided for participants. UAW Local 2209 provides support that keeps registration fees low, and the event is free for young people 18 and under. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
