Hot Summer Singletrack Trail Race
The Hot Summer Singletrack takes place at Franke Park in Fort Wayne and offers separate mountain bike, trail running, and wheelchair events on technical trails and park paths. The event features both three hour and six hour formats, and a new 2027 option allows teams to share laps in the six hour category.
Mountain bike competitors complete laps on a seven mile loop of technical dirt trails. Trail runners complete laps on a three mile loop of the same technical dirt trails. Wheelchair competitors follow a course of paved path and gravel road.
Distances offered:
- 60 miles (Six Hour MTB, seven mile loop)
- 30 miles (Three Hour MTB, seven mile loop)
- 31 miles (Six Hour Trail Run, three mile loop)
- 18 miles (Three Hour Trail Run, three mile loop)
- 26.2 miles (Six Hour Wheelchair)
- 13.1 miles (Three Hour Wheelchair)
Participants and crew have a tent city near the hub at the base of Derby Hill for camp setup. Snacks and picnic-style food, water, hydration mixes, Coke and Sprite are provided for participants. Awards are given to the winner of each category. Registration fees are kept low through local support, and the event is free for people 18 and under.
