About the race
The KRÁTKA HBS (short course) is an 11 km mountain trail in the Smolník area with +470 m of ascent. The route is named "Po stopách smolníckych baníkov" and starts in the centre of Smolník at the Alžbetin dom. The course follows marked hiking trails: an initial climb along the yellow tourist route to Štóske sedlo, then a section toward Štósky vrch and a turn onto the green trail down to the settlement of Štóske kúpele. From there the route returns on the red trail (Cesta hrdinov SNP) back to Štóske sedlo and descends to the finish in Smolník.
The trail includes varied terrain such as cross-country paths, forest tracks and historic mining paths linked to the local mining past. There are three refreshment stations placed along the route. A time limit of three hours applies to the course. The route passes through the Volovské vrchy bird protection area and participants are asked to observe nature protection rules.
